Killed 200 people piled up in Sierra Leone

Freetown: At least 200 people were killed in a cave that is a gold mining area in the West African country, Sierra Leone, as the media reported Friday (19 / 3). The scene was in the southern part of Sierra Leone, less than 300 km from the capital Freetown. According to reports, fateful event happened because of a collapsed trench. However, so far there was still no further details about the incident.

Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Sierra Leone lies between Guinea and Liberia in western Africa. This country has an area of approximately 72,000 square kilometers, with natural resources including gold, diamonds, bauxite, and iron ore.

This country has experienced civil war for a decade. Government of Sierra Leone with the United Nations (UN), has set up special courts in 2002 ago. This special court is mandated to make people be responsible for atrocities in Sierra Leone after 30 November 1996.

Israeli troops kill Palestinian youth in West Bank

A Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli soldiers and another seriously injured Saturday in clashes in the occupied West Bank, said some Palestinian hospital officials.

The young man took part in demonstrations as protesters threw stones at Israeli soldiers near the city of Nablus in the West Bank. Some Palestinian hospital officials and witnesses said the young 16-year-old Palestinian was killed by Israeli gunfire.

The Israeli military said soldiers fired no ammunition, but use the weapons for riot control such as tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the Palestinians who approached a Jewish settlement.

Death is the first in a series of clashes that erupted this week as a protest against Israel at a concentration of ancient synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem, and probably will increase the tension.

Islamic groups Hamas and Palestinian officials affiliated with a rival, the moderate Fatah movement, declared the restoration work at the ancient synagogue in the area of Jewish Hurva near the walled Old City of endangering the al-Aqsa Mosque, which is about 400 meters.

Secretary General PBB Supports Palestinian State

Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, on Saturday said the international community "strongly supports" efforts to establish a Palestinian state when he began a regional tour aimed at reviving peace talks.

He started his two-day visit to meet Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Sayyad in Ramallah, West Bank, and praised the plan to build the institutions of an independent Palestinian state in mid-2011.

Ban is also scheduled to meet senior officials will visit Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Hamas-ruled. The rubble is still visible in large areas of Gaza following the Israeli attacks during the 22 days in December 2008.

Along with Ban's visit, the violence continued on Saturday when Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian youth who threw stones at them and a more serious injuries in the village of Burin, West Bank, said medical officials and Palestinian security.

They said the soldiers entered Iraq Burin, a village south of Nablus which is often the area of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli settlers, in order to break the battle between the villagers and residents near the settlement of Bracha.

Villagers said the fighting broke out when settlers attacked the village and not related to the protests against the Israeli settlements that occurred in the West Bank and East Jerusalem last week.

Israeli Army memeberikan not immediately comment on the incident.

Meanwhile, Palestinians fired a rocket from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, but fell on open ground, the military said.

The shooting was the second rocket into Israel since the projectile rocket killed a worker from Thailand on Thursday. Worker is the first person killed by rocket attacks from the area since the war Gaza.

Colombian FARC rebels Culik Five Contractors Oil

Bogota (AFP / Reuters) - Colombian FARC Rebels have kidnapped five local oil contractors near an oil field operated by the U.S., brought them to Venezuela with the army after them, as some officials, Saturday.

FARC, or Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, who had become a powerful rebel force, has been hit repeatedly until the weakest level in decades. Foreign investment, particularly in the field of petroleum and mining, are exploding as companies are attracted to Colombia.

The country is now number 4 oil producer Latin America, with production of more than 700,000 barrels per day.

Red Shirt Leader Demands to Bargain With Thai PM

Bangkok - The leaders of the Red Shirt demonstration of anti-Thai government said Saturday they will only talk directly with the government if Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Abhisit previously said, that negotiations have been scheduled between the two government leaders and two senior members of the Red Shirt, who had held a demonstration in Bangkok for seven days and call new elections do.

Thai media reports, a protest leader has agreed to hold a meeting Monday evening, but some of the other Red Shirt insisted that they would only talk directly to the prime minister.

"After we meet and discuss, we reached the conclusion that we are not going to negotiate with Satit or Korbsak. For we will negotiate only with Abhisit," said protest leader, Jatuporn Prompan, in front of the audience.

He was referring to the Minister Satit Wonghnongtaey and government officials Korbsak Sabhavasu, Abhisit appointed to negotiate with leaders Red shirt.

Thousands of protesters against Putin in all Russia

Vladivostok, Russia (AFP / Reuters) - Thousands of people demonstrated Saturday against the Russian government of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, in a series of protests, fueled by a sharp decline in living standards since the economic crisis hit.
